Hailed by many as being the world's first multicultural society, Sicily is flourishing in more ways than one. With islands sprinkled around every waterway, it comes as no surprise that this autonomous region of Italy is as diverse and electrifying as its locals.

Enjoy the sophisticated tastes of Palermo and make your way to Cin-Cin, a refined restaurant discreetly tucked between the Politeama Opera House and the English Garden. Venture off the tourist path to Capo d'Orlando and join the ongoing search for the missing Virgin Mary, dating back to 1925. For an insane night of partying, head to Panarea and hob knob with the island's young, jet set crowd. If you want to experience all that Sicily has to offer, there is no better way to do so than by sail boat.

Days 1-2

Sail through the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean and discover why Sicily has become a favorite hideaway for those in search of a little tranquility. Spend the next seven days combing remote beaches, exploring the surrounding archipelagos and docking neighboring ports. Your excursion begins in Palermo as you board your boat, The Beneteau. Sail to Salina, Sicily's second largest island, and explore the natural preserve, the Saracen caves, and enjoy a late lunch in the town of Pollara. As the sun sets, approach the island of Stromboli and catch a glimpse of the imposing flaming volcano.

Days 3-4

Arrive at the San Pietro Port in Panarea and head to the restaurant at the Park Hotel La Sirenetta for a scrumptious seafood dinner. After, make your way to the local hotspot, the Hotel Raya, and mingle amongst the well-heeled crowd on the terrazzo. It's off to the island of Lipari for a day of visiting castles, relaxing at cafes and riding vespas down cobblestone streets.

Days 5-7

As the pungent smell of sulfur sets in, you know you've arrived in Vulcano. Soak in one of the island's two steaming therapeutic mud pools, the Acqua del Bagno and the Acqua Bollente. Head north to Gelso and indulge your appetite with some stuffed flying squid or some grilled swordfish involtini at the Tratorria Maniani Pino. Get ready for some well-needed rest and head to the secluded islands of Filicudi and Alicudi. With only a few shops, you'll be forced to surrender to nature and appreciate the island's calming presence. Bright and early, you will set sail and cast anchor in the small fishing village of Cefalù. There you will find the perfect blend of local Sicilian culture and international tourism as you plan your return to Palermo.
